Two General Service Unit (GSU) officers were arrested in Isiolo County on Sunday while trafficking bhang using a government vehicle.
A multi-agency special operation team based at the Archer’s Post said it intercepted two vehicles trafficking bhang, one of which belongs to the GSU and the other civilians.
The two vehicles were intercepted separately at the Gorti-Merti Junction in Isiolo County.
From the two vehicles, police seized 124 bales of bhang with approximately 600kg.
Among the suspects arrested were Police Constable Patrick Kinyua who was driving the GSU truck and his colleague, Sergeant Shariff Mohammed.
The GSU officers are attached to the Mariera Camp in Igembe Central.
The arrested civilians were trafficking their drug haul in a black Toyota Prado.
All the suspects were taken to the Isiolo Police Station and the weapons seized from the GSU officers stored in the armory.
