Just 15 percent believe Kenya is headed in the right direction – Tifa

A new study has revealed that as of June 2023, 25 percent of Kenyans believed that the Kenya Kwanza government is taking the country in the right direction.

This is a decrease of -12 percent from the month of March where 37 per cent were satisfied that Kenya was headed in the right direction.

The study conducted by Trends and Insights for Africa (TIFA) research released on Thursday states that 56 per cent of Kenyans believe the country is heading in the wrong direction.

According to the report, respondents who took part in the survey said 79 per cent of what is hindering the nation’s progress is the high cost of living.

The 1,530 respondents were interviewed from June 24-30, 2023.

The sample was spread across nine regions which include Central Rift, Coast, Lower Eastern, Mt Kenya, Nairobi, Northern, Nyanza, South Rift and Western.

The interviews were conducted through telephone interviews and face-to-face.

There was a positive and negative 2.5 per cent margin of error.
